Crowns and Bridges
A tooth in danger of breaking often is restored with a "cap" or crown. It covers the Entire tooth. Teeth with large fillings or a large amount of decay are candidates for crowns. Crowns today are very esthetic and are difficult to distinguish once in place.
A bridge is used when a tooth is missing. A crown is placed on either side of the missing tooth with a false tooth suspended in between.
Implant Supported Crowns
The Implant consists of Titanium screw and a crown. The screw is "implanted" in the jaw making connection with the living bone. After a period of healing, we fabricate a crown for you. This is more durable than a bridge.
Implant Supported Dentures and Bridges
Implant supported prosthetics are more comfortable and stable than conventional dentures, allowing you to retain a more natural biting and chewing capacity. In addition, because implant supported full bridges and dentures will replace some of your tooth roots, your bone is better preserved.
With conventional dentures, the bone that previously surrounded the tooth roots deteriorates. Dental implants help keep bone healthy and intact. Implants are more esthetic and easier to maintain than dentures. Dentures also make it difficult to eat certain foods.
